Hamilton & Waikato’s Top Activities
Whether you’re checking out all that Hamilton has to offer (the Waikato’s largest city), or decide to head for the beach, the Waikato is a fantastic holiday destination.
Whilst in the Waikato, you’ll want to check out their most famed attraction – the Waitomo Caves and Hobbiton. In Waitomo you’ll find the most incredible collection of New Zealand glow worms and Hobbition is, of course, home to the hobbits!
The region also has an incredible 1,138 km of coastline, including the much loved beaches of Raglan and Port Waikato – both of which are perfect places to learn to surf or just to enjoy a day by the ocean.
… and that’s not to mention the many waterfalls, rivers and caving systems that the area is blessed with.
